Located in Abuja, the company offers energy management, renewable energy policy, utility-scale solar, microgrids and commercial and industrial solar services, enabling people to positively change the power situation of the country by using solar power. Responsibilities of a Project Engineer at Prado Power Limited

The responsibilities involve both those related to project execution and those of project development. They are listed below:

  • Develop scope of works for solar projects and liaise with the Engineering Design team to come up with construction design packages and other supporting documentation
  • Support the company’s Business Development team with the required technical information for development of Solar PV solutions that align with the needs of their clients
  • Resource planning for project implementation (identification and procurement of necessary project resources for project implementation)
  • Coordinate activities to retrieve energy consumption data and Energy production and performance modeling for PV and energy storage systems
  • Manage communications with the Owners Engineers of the company’s various clients
  • Supervise installations in a timely and cost-effective manner maintaining high standards and compliance with best practices for solar installations
  • Ensure safety as you would be responsible for job site hazard identification and development of appropriate safety management plans for projects
  • Project document control – maintain up to date project/site documents
  • Liaise with Management to improve company processes
  • Technical project due diligence and project engineering design review
  • Participate, review and sign-off commissioning test reports
  • Perform reporting functions to Management including weekly site reports

Education Qualification

To be considered for any of the Project Engineer jobs at Prado Power Limited, applicant must:

  • Have minimum of BSc or HND in engineering (i.e. civil, structural, mechanical or electrical or similar technical degree).
  • Be a member of relevant professional bodies in Nigeria such as the Nigeria Society of Engineers or COREN
  • Have completed training/certifications in Solar PV project design and implementation
  • PMP certification is an advantage

Required Skills and Experience for Project Engineer jobs

Applicant must:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience as a project manager, field engineer or project engineer preferred in the Solar PV space
  • Have at least 2 years of engineering management of project teams preferred
  • Be willing to work and succeed in a culture of respect, communication, and accountability in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess strong leadership, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Have experience as a project manager with responsibility for management of project budget, schedule, engineering performance, construction performance, commissioning performance, quality performance and safety performance required
  • Have strong contract administration and construction risk management skills
  • Demonstrate experience in safety focused work environment
  • Have ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have engineering management, construction management, project cost controls, project scheduling and project management skills
  • Strongly demonstrate experience in management of change and cost control of projects
  • Have ability to represent the company with integrity and professionalism
  • Have strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and other Project Management Software
  • Be familiar with the use of Solar PV design software such as HOMER and Helioscope.
